Description
In the spring and summer term, we have been offered the opportunity to host Attention Autism CPD training with accreditation (Level 2 Online Attention Autism).
Those interested in this limited opportunity will need to commit to a number of requirements in order to gain full accreditation.
Settings must commit to the member of staff attending the online CPD training on the dates below:
- March, April, May 2025 (x2 dates to be confirmed)
N.B. Attention Autism require delegates to attend all planned sessions and submit a film in order to meet the requirements for accreditation. The short film clips will be of your attention autism practice. Where there are extenuating circumstances which prevent attendance at any of the sessions, it is the delegates responsibility to liaise with Attention Autism to share this information. Attention Autism may be able to offer additional sessions, however this is not guarenteed. If Attention Autism cannot accommodate a replacement session, unfortunately the delegate would not be accredited, however could continue to deliver Attention Autism in their setting.
A course with a focus on taking practitioner skills to the next level through small group workshops and individual coaching and feedback.
This course includes 2 x 75 minute online workshops. We will explore the practicalities of delivering the programme and creating the very best learning opportunities for all the children involved. We look in greater depth at the use of visually supported communication, the use of modelling and problem solving within sessions, ways to develop the supporting adult role, problem solving and using what happens in the moment to embed social skills targets within sessions, and inspiring spontaneous communication by creating engaging meaningful contexts. There is time for discussion and to explore of ways of tackling difficulties that may have arisen in practice.
The course includes 2 x films of the attendee delivering sessions to a group of children with the whole group visible
- Film of Stages 1 and 2
- Film of Stages 3 and 4
We then arrange 2 x live feedback sessions on zoom 1:1 for half an hour each.
