Bolton Start Well

These PowerPoint presentation slides, discussed during the Early Years Coordination Hub Meeting on the 30th April 2020, show the number of open providers by area, neighbourhood and service type.  The slides can be accessed here.

Summary of Slides

The Council are required to submit a twice weekly return to the DfE, highlighting the number of settings that are open/closed and the number of key worker/vulnerable children attending.  This information is gathered using the 'Data Capture' online submission form, details below.

For the week commencing 27th April 2020 a total of 55% of settings remain open and 654 children are accessing early years provision in Bolton. Crompton and Halliwell have the lowest number of providers open and Farnworth and Kearsley have the highest number of providers open.  A total of 34% childminders remain open.

Data Capture for the DfE

We would encourage all providers who are currently open, or who plan to reopen the following week to complete the data capture every Monday before 11am using this form.

Schools, and settings that have closed and do not plan to reopen until schools reopen to all pupils, do not need to complete this unless you have any learning to share with the wider sector. If you are not a school setting and have closed but haven’t already emailed families@bolton.gov.uk to confirm your closure please can you do this so we do not contact you unnecessarily.

To support the gathering of the data needed for the DfE submission, you may receive a telephone call from a Local Authority Officer if you have not been able to complete the data capture. They will introduce themselves as a Bolton Council member of staff and will either work for Start Well, Families Information (Information & Communication) or Human Resources (HR). They can be verified by asking for the code word - which is "Rainbow".
