Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People

Course factsheet
Course specifications
Purpose statement

This course is funded by adult skills.

This Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People does not qualify learners to work in childcare settings, however it will prepare them for future learning and training as well as providing life skills. The qualification also share units which means credits and learning can be transferred between them and units already completed do not need to be retaken.

The course will give learners a good understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people.
All of the units are optional which allows greater flexibility to learners and tutors when deciding on a programme of study - maximising learner achievement.

On completion learners can progress to the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or the Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care qualifications.
