Adapting Services for Boys and Young Men (sexual abuse) Thurs 1st Nov, 10am ( 90 mins) Click to Enrol

This training is delivered by Phil Mitchell; a BACP senior accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience of working with sexually abused, assaulted, and exploited boys and men. Phil will look at why services may have to adapt when dealing with male victims and the reasons for that., Positive perceptions of masculinity, male-friendly approaches and how the ACHIEVE model can be used to improve CSE services for boys.

 

Coordinated Approach to Children who go Missing Tues 8th Nov, 10am (2 hrs) Click to Enrol

This course looks at what ‘missing’ means, legislation, guidance and identifies risks and vulnerabilities of children who are missing. It considers why children go missing and what we can do together to prevent or reduce the risks when this occurs.  The approach needs to be co-ordinated and the training will look at ways to reduce risk and support those who feel it necessary to go missing.

 

MAPPA (Multi-agency Public Protection Arrangements) Tues 8th November, 2pm (90 mins) Click to Enrol

This course aims to provide an understanding of what MAPPA actually means, how the framework is used and implemented when dealing with the most serious violent and sexual offenders in our community, provide guidance on how the law applies to your agency and what your individual roles and responsibilities are.

 

Keeping Children Safe (Advanced) refresher Mon 14th Nov, 1pm (3 hrs) at Castle Hill Centre Click to Enrol

The Refresher course (half day) is for those who have previously completed the full day course and feel confident in their knowledge that a refresher is suitable.

The course is aimed at those with Designated Safeguarding Officer or Child Safeguarding Lead responsibilities (and deputies). It considers the child protection systems (Strategy meetings, Conferences and Core Groups), procedures, individual roles and responsibilities. This course meets the needs of training for those who are Ofsted inspected  for their DSL training.

 

Neglect in Bolton update

Bolton Safeguarding Children Partnership is hosting a ‘Neglect in Bolton Update’. The online session will provide further detail about our Bolton approach to child neglect, including the launch of our local Neglect Handbook.  Two sessions will be held to ensure as many people as possible can attend; delegates need only attend one session of their choice.

Network Bite - Bolton Safeguarding Children Partnership - TRAC Psychological program  Mon 21st Nov, 1pm (90 mins max) Click to Enrol

Bolton Safeguarding Children Partnership is hosting a series of informative “Network Bites” (NwB) webinars.

TRAC Psychological works across Bolton designing and delivering behaviour change and emotional management programmes to support those experiencing domestic abuse (perpetrators and victims) for a range of clients within criminal justice, social care and education sectors.

TRAC’s flagship programme for adults is Inner Strength

  • Inner Strength Lite for individuals who experience high relationship conflict
  • Inner Strength Complete for those experiencing domestic abuse
  • Inner Peace for Victims

Programme for children / younger people

  • Understanding Self and Other programme for younger people experiencing abusive behaviour in dating relationships
  • Understanding Self where a child or young person is abusive towards a care giver
  • Family Strength for support to family members including parents and siblings

Dr. Brian Jacobs and Dr. John Ivens will discuss; development of resilience, general classroom management, anxiety and distress in the classroom: internalising difficulties, and behavioural issues in the classroom.
