Update

The Department for Education (DfE) ‘Fee information for Parents – Checklist’ has been updated following feedback from the sector that point number 34 a and b could be misinterpreted.

The text now reads as follows:

34. make it clear that there is no cost to the hours delivered as part of the early years entitlement:

a. state the funding is not be used as a subsidy

b. state that parents must not pay the difference between the funding the provider receives from the LA and the provider’s standard rate

Invoicing - Checklist and  Fee information for parents - Checklist - During this term's events, the Early Years Entitlement team also ran a session which focused on fee structures and invoicing. They have collated all responses together and created a checklist of questions you may wish to consider when reviewing providers fee information and invoices.

N.B. The information contained in these documents are not exhaustive lists; they are a collection of all the suggestions raised during the LA Regional Events. These documents may not be considered as official DfE guidance and do not provide a legal basis for assessing or auditing providers.
