Department of Education

New resource.

The Department for Education have developed a new food safety resource which includes evidence based guidance and lots of resources on the following:

  • The importance of food safety;
  • Food safety advice for children age 5 and under;
  • Age related food and drinks to avoid;
  • Safe weaning advice;
  • Allergy information and useful resources, and
  • Food and food preparation hygiene.

The EYFS Framework requires providers to take all of the necessary steps to keep children safe and well - You must be confident that those responsible for preparing and handling food in your setting are competent to do so.
