Holiday activity and food programme

By now you will be aware of the Government funded Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) which provides eligible young people (aged 4 to 17 years) with four hours of activity a day, over a four week period of the summer school holiday - supported by free food during or after the session. The HAF programme aims to provide healthy food and enriching activities for primary and secondary school aged children who are eligible for free school meals related benefits during the summer holidays.

However, in Bolton we have widened much of the offer to support all local young (aged 4-17 years) people this summer!

Over the holiday period, children and young people can access a variety of fun sessions at no cost.  The sessions will include healthy food and a variety of exciting activities and sports.  The sessions are part-funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and coordinated and delivered by the Council and its local partners.

Here is a digital flyer to send to all families which has details of the website where full details of the programme are available: www.bolton.gov.uk/HAF. Please share both with your families as soon as possible.

For your reference, some elements of the local offer (specialist sessions and free leisure passes for 11-16 year olds) are only for targeted groups (benefits related FSM) and as such, the eligible group will receive a VIP version of the flyer through the post within the next few days.
