Reminder EYFS Reforms - online briefing sessions

Our online briefing sessions for Schools, PVIs and Childminders have been recorded to help you plan and prepare for the roll out of the new EYFS statutory framework from September 2021.

The briefings covered the following:

  • Be clear about the rationale for reform of the EYFS - understand ‘why’ so we can approach change positively;
  • Be confident to start with - Identify where you are to evaluate and build on your existing good practice – review the key messages from DfE and Ofsted;
  • Look at what the main changes are and consider what this means in practice for curriculum development, observation, assessment and planning and staff CPD; and
  • Teachers from Bolton's Early Adopter schools share thoughts on their experience of working with the reformed EYFS and Development Matters this year.

If you didn’t access the live briefings, or you’d like to re-watch the recorded version, please email startwellbookings@bolton.gov.uk to request a recorded copy.  You will also receive a copy of the Start Well self-reflection to support implementation tool mentioned in the briefing session.

Please also remember to watch the DfE vodcasts prior to watching the briefing to hear the official key messages from the DfE and Ofsted:
